T&R Interior Systems is a NZ owned and run company, operating for over 25 years. With a team of 23 staff based across the country, in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, T&R are unequalled in their market.
Their speciality lies in creating acoustic solutions for building interiors, along with the supply of quality interior building products for interior fit-out projects.
T&R were privileged to work with global architects on the design and implementation of interior solutions for the new Commercial Bay lower precinct.
Their design of Gold Eclipse Aluminium Baffle lining the ceiling, is a beautiful addition to the spacious, high store fit outs and are accompanied by the matching gold balustrades around each floor. To fix such a custom design within the ceiling system, T&R looked to FDG to provide a custom solution. FDG works with multiple suppliers of HVAC and electrical systems in the ceiling cavity where strut fixings and strut accessories are the perfect partner, however this was the first time they had modified strut for the purposes of fixing an interior design element.
FDG worked with the design team to create a cost effective yet visually impressive striking celling that is one of the showpieces of the retail precinct of Commercial Bay. To attach this 5300 linear metres of 150x25mm Eclipse Aluminium baffle, FDG cut strut to design length and powder-coated it to match the gold powder-coat powder which was imported from Italy specifically for the T&R baffle, at the architect’s request.
