Air New Zealand Hangar 4
Air New Zealand’s Hangar 4 is the world’s largest single-span timber aircraft hangar. Spanning 10,000m² at its Auckland engineering base, it’s designed for efficiency and sustainability, with a 5-6 Green Star rating, double-layer insulation, and ceiling fans for cooling. The hangar accommodates a wide-body aircraft and two narrow-body jets.
Manawatū Tararua Highway
A major slip in April 2017 left SH3 through the Manawatū Gorge impassable. Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway is a new 11.5km route over the Ruahine Range, providing a safer, more resilient connection between Woodville and Ashhurst. The project includes six bridges, extensive earthworks, and significant environmental restoration efforts, with completion expected by mid-2025.
50 Albert Street
FDG worked alongside contractors to ensure the building’s services systems were well-supported and integrated into this project’s sustainable design. The cable containment, Modframe and strut, pipe supports and seismic bracing provided by FDG were designed to meet both functional and aesthetic requirements of the project.
