About this project:
A major slip in April 2017 left SH3 through the Manawatū Gorge impassable. Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway is a new 11.5km route over the Ruahine Range, providing a safer, more resilient connection between Woodville and Ashhurst. The project includes six bridges, extensive earthworks, and significant environmental restoration efforts, with completion expected by mid-2025.
FDG’s contribution
FDG played a key role in supporting the Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway project by supplying critical fastening and support solutions across three key areas.
- General Site Requirements – FDG provided essential general fasteners, consumables, and anchors to support day-to-day construction activities.
2. Drainage Service Hangers (Part 1) – FDG supplied stainless steel threaded rod, nuts, and washers, ensuring strong and corrosion-resistant hanging systems for drainage infrastructure.
3. Drainage Service Hangers (Part 2) – FDG delivered custom pipe clamps and fabricated posts for pipe supports and seismic bracing, reinforcing structural stability.
